Syllabus

Since this will be the first semester of this course, the syllabus is still tentative. As we progress, all slides and weekly subjects will be announced in this page.

  • Week 1: Introduction to Digital Audio Processing and review of related mathematical concepts.
    • Regarding this week's material, you may refer to any undergraduate level Calculus book for reference.
    • Lecture Slides (password protected).
    • MATLAB Codes (password protected).
  • Week 2: This week is a review on Discrete-Time Signals and Systems.
    • You may refer to any undergraduate level Signals and Systems book for reference.

  • Week 3: This week is a review on Discrete Fourier Transform.
    • You may refer to any undergraduate level DSP book for reference.
    • Lecture Slides (password protected).
    • MATLAB Codes (password protected).
  • Week 4: A bit more on DFT concepts, Short-time Fourier Transform and Spectogram.
  • Week 5: A bit more on DFT concepts, Short-time Fourier Transform and Spectogram.
  • Week 6: We have a midterm this week. However in our extra hour on Wednesday we will make a general overview of the concepts we've learned upto now.
  • Week 7: Sinusoidal model of sound.
  • Week 8: Additive Synthesis
